Dane and Willie teamed up for the first time in 2010, with Dane in the 29er and Willie in a coach boat, to attempt to realize a goal of reaching the ISAF Youth World Championship. In 2011, Dane qualified for the Youth Worlds with his brother, Quinn at the helm, and Willie’s critical eye giving feedback from the coach boat. In 2012 the team repeated the feat, and to date, have placed 4th and 6th at the ISAF Youth Worlds, and 8th at the Open Worlds. After the 2012 ISAF Youth Worlds, Dane aged out of the youth circuit, and team McBride.Wilson was born of Olympic aspirations.
Both team members bring years of skiff experience to the plate, having represented the United States at the ISAF Youth Worlds (analogous to the Olympics for sailors under the age of 18) in 2007, 2011, and 2012. Even with their young ages, the duo have a number of championship titles to their names including two National Championships, and a European Championship, and are hungry for experience in the 49er.
